About nine or ten weeks ago, I wrote to readers reviewing week one of recording The Third Arrangement’s debut album. For a few weeks after that post, I pondered over the quasi-promise that I would keep you and all viewers up to date via this blog. It wasn’t long after that I decided to just focus solely on my efforts and my band-mates’ efforts with regards to recording this record.
It turned out to be a good choice.
So we went into high gear with this process. After our initial scratch tracks were done on May 14th, we began recording, layer by layer, each track that will make up our debut album. Two days a week, nearly every single week I went over to “the shed” to lay down parts, and work with three other members of the band and our side sick (you know who you are). Over these past couple of months I have learned a myriad of techniques and ways to approach recording our own material. This time has proven to be invaluable, and possibly as paramount as Meeseeks.
But I felt that we owed it to people who have been curious, wondering, and inquiring what we are up to with the album and such. So going forward, our band will be offering some nuggets and a little sauce on the side (picture right now that the meal has only been half prepared and there are only dinner rolls on the table). As the days and weeks of Summer’s most reluctant month move on through, we will be pushing onward to the very thing we have been longing for quite some time — our first album.
In the midst of the Summer heat, we will be performing just a few times before we plan an official album release …coming soon…
On August 3rd we will be joining a number of well-known local bands and groups at Medford Lakes’ Canoe Carnival / Broyo Fest (a big thank you is owed for including us in this). There, you will see groups such as: Suburban Sensi, Eastern Function, Mums The Word, and Jolly Jane to name a few. This event is going on all evening Friday and again on Saturday, August 4th. This is a “donations encouraged” event!
On August 9th we will be at The Fire in Philly, laying it down with Eastern Function and Mums The Word. The show is at 8pm and is $10 at the door.
